HOW WE WORK
Cleaning the Court
For a new concrete slab, we acid wash the court to open up the pores and clean the concrete, which allows for more contact points for the paint. For a resurface, we use a water broom to wash the court off prior to putting down any paint.
Prepping the Surface
Once we’ve cleaned the surface, we put down a glue that helps the first coat of paint bond with the concrete and fill the joints and cracks so they aren’t big enough to compromise your court’s safety.
Beginning Application
We begin applying the first coat of black resurfacer, which is made to hold more sand to help fill voids and ensure the playing surface is level.
Design and Color
Once the resurfacing material is put down, we’ll apply two coats of color coat on top of the black. This ensures you get a consistent playing surface that matches your desired design.
Lines, Accessories, and More
Before leaving, we install tape and paint lines depending on your custom design wants and needs to prepare your court for your desired sport. Then, the material cures for 48 hours.
Learn MoreFrequently Asked Questions
-
How often should a sports court be resurfaced?
How often you should schedule sports court resurfacing will depend on usage, weather conditions, and maintenance. On average, your courts should be resurfaced every 4 to 8 years to maintain optimal performance and safety. -
What materials do you use for court surfacing?
We use high-quality SportMaster materials for your court surfacing project. With these amazing products, you can trust that your court will be strong enough to withstand frequent use for many years to come. -
How do I maintain my court after resurfacing?
To keep your court in top shape after court surfacing, regularly sweep away debris, clean the surface with mild soap and water, and avoid using harsh chemicals or heavy equipment that could damage the surface. -
Is your surfacing material slip-resistant?
Yes, our court surfaces are designed to provide excellent grip and traction, reducing the risk of slips and falls. This ensures your court is safe for even the youngest members of your family to enjoy playing their favorite sport. -
What causes cracks and damage to sports courts?
Cracks and surface damage to your sports court can result from weather exposure, ground movement, heavy use, and improper drainage. Regular maintenance helps extend the lifespan of your court. -
What are the signs that my court needs resurfacing?
If you notice cracks, fading, pooling water, uneven areas, or a more slippery surface than you once dealt with, this may indicate your court is in need of resurfacing. This will enhance court safety and performance. -
Will the cracks come back after they've been filled and repaired?
Yes, the cracks will return over time, but they will appear as hairline fractures rather than large, open gaps or expansion joints. While repairs help minimize their visibility, no crack-filling method can permanently prevent future surface movement, making court maintenance essential to prolong your court’s performance.
